Hey! So as I write this, it’s been awhile since I posted to this blog.
(By the time you read this, I’ve probably gone back and posted release announcements for a bunch of titles, but since you’re here now, let’s pretend that hasn’t happened yet.)
When I last posted back in August, I had just released the final book in my twelve-month publishing challenge. The whole challenge had been a fantastic experience. Total success! I published twelve new books!
The obvious next step? Do it all over again. Faster.
WHOA! HOW FAST ARE WE TALKING HERE?
At first, the plan was a new release every three weeks.
But then I thought, you know what? Life’s too short. I can do better.
And ever since August, I’ve been releasing a new title every week.
EVERY WEEK?
Every week.
BUT HOW? IS THIS ALL NEW STUFF THAT YOU’RE WRITING THAT FAST?
No! No way.
I have been writing plenty of new stories lately, it’s been a great year for that too. But I’m still getting caught up on many older pieces that I should have published for you a long time ago.
Basically, over the course of that challenge, I leveled up my publishing skills so much that now I can almost do the entire process myself, including the covers. That really speeds things up.
Turns out, it’s also pretty fun. I’m having a blast, and I love seeing each new book come to life.
AND THESE ARE ALL FULL-LENGTH BOOKS?
No, not yet. All the books for that twelve-month challenge were full-length. And I’m gearing up for a special challenge where I will publish another seventeen books that are also all full-length: novellas, novels, collections, and omnibuses. It’ll be a mix.
Because those will all be full-length books, I’ve still got some preparation to do before I’ll launch into that next challenge. I’ll let you know when I start.
But I still want to keep publishing new titles!
So while I finish that preparation, I’m also releasing a new short title every week. Mostly plays and short stories, each with their own full cover and blurb. In ebook and paperback.
SHORT STORIES IN PAPERBACK?
Yeah! They’re pretty fun! I love holding one of my short stories as a slender paperback with its own fun cover.
But you can also get them as ebooks, of course. On Amazon, Kobo, Barnes and Noble, Apple, and more… I’m really pushing hard to make my books available wherever readers want to find them. On whatever device they choose.
Short stories are a smaller investment than novels, in both money and time. So if you like a writer’s work in one genre, shorts can be a way to sample their work in another genre that you don’t usually read.
You might just discover a new world to explore…
CAN I SEE THOSE SHORT STORIES?
Sure! In fact, I’ve coded up this special bit that will show you a list of all my short stories, even the ones I publish long after this post. It’s getting longer every week, so I’ll pop that in after my signature below.
(You can also see all my books here.)
Anyhow, that’s the plan. If you’re on my newsletter, you’ll get a simple new release announcement every Tuesday.
Whew. Just typing that promise gives me a shiver.
Nervous? Nah. Excitement. Let’s do this.
See you next Tuesday.
With a new little book.
